A major boost for air travel to and from Israel: Italian airline ITA Airways, which recently announced its return to the Israeli market - first reported by Passport News - is doubling its flight frequency on the Tel Aviv-Rome route.
Now part of the Lufthansa Group as of last week, ITA will resume service between Tel Aviv and Rome in early February with a daily afternoon flight. Starting February 16, the airline will add a second daily flight in the morning, further enhancing connectivity between the two cities.
Flight AZ810 departs at 22:50 from Rome and lands at 03:10 at Ben Gurion Airport
Flight AZ809 departs at 05:15 from Ben Gurion Airport and lands at 08:05 in Rome
Flight AZ806 departs at 09:10 from Rome and lands at 13:30 at Ben Gurion Airport
Flight AZ807 departs at 14:30 from Ben Gurion Airport and lands at 17:15 in Rome
Morning flights offer very convenient connections through Rome to other parts of the world, including North America. For example, the flight from Tel Aviv to New York via Rome allows for a connection of only two hours and 10 minutes in Rome; the flight to Miami with a two-hour and 15-minute connection, and the flight to Sao Paulo with only a two-hour and 25-minute connection.
All flights to and from Tel Aviv will be conducted with the company's Airbus A321neo airplanes.
ITA will resume the route between Tel Aviv and Rome on February 1st, 2025, when all Lufthansa Group companies will also resume their routes - Lufthansa to Munich and Frankfurt, Austrian to Vienna, SWISS to Zurich, Brussels Airlines to Brussels, and Eurowings to Dusseldorf.
In addition to them, following Wizz Air's return to Israel, British flag carrier British Airways will resume the route to London on April 5 and British low-cost airline easyJet announced it intends to renew flights to Israel starting June 1, 2025.
According to easyJet's announcement, it will operate 38 weekly flights to Israel, including destinations like London, Milan, Amsterdam, and others.
