Latvian airline airBaltic has announced the expansion of its route network for the winter season 2026-2027, with the launch of 12 new routes that will begin operating between the end of October 2026 and the end of March 2027.

As part of the move, the company will strengthen its operations in Gran Canaria, establish a new seasonal base in Tenerife, and operate weekend flights from its winter destination of Kuusamo, Finland. In addition, it will add a new route from its home base in Riga to Kuusamo.

The network expansion includes new routes from Gran Canaria to major cities in Poland and Belgium, along with routes from Tenerife to Lithuania, Slovenia and Belgium. From Kuusamo, routes to Germany and the UK will be operated, with an emphasis on winter tourism and skiing.

Most routes will operate once or twice a week, depending on demand and destination. The move reflects the company's strategy to expand its winter destination offering, combining sunny destinations such as the Canary Islands with winter destinations in northern Europe.
