Abu Dhabi Tourism Hits 26.6M Visitors, with 8.6 Million at Cultural Sites: the Numbers That Tell 2025's Story

With tens of millions of visitors, massive investment in culture, the opening of new museums and breaking records in the hotel and events industry, Abu Dhabi continues to establish its position as a leading international destination

Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism has published its performance report for 2025, showing that the emirate recorded a significant increase in tourism and cultural activity, with a total of 26.6 million visitors.

According to the data, Abu Dhabi's cultural sites and libraries attracted approximately 8.6 million visitors, with a high satisfaction rate of 96%. During the year, the emirate offered 115 different cultural programs, as part of the expansion of cultural activities.

Among the most prominent sites, the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum stood out with roughly 1.4 million visitors, alongside the Qasr al-Hosn site with more than 843,000 visitors. The latter grew by 22% compared to the previous year.

Five new museums opened during the year, including teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum, and the Zayed National Museum. In addition, major museums such as the Al Muqtaa Museum and the Al Ain Museum reopened.

The events sector also recorded records, with a 20% increase in the number of participants in cultural and leisure events, alongside a 37% increase in the number of business conferences and a 40% increase in the number of participants.

The hotel industry also performed positively, with approximately 5.9 million hotel guests, an increase of 2.2% year-on-year. The occupancy rate was 81%, while total hotel revenue increased by 19.5%. The number of international tourists increased by approximately 10%, and the average length of stay reached 2.9 nights.
