European Airlines Hold Back: EASA Extends Advisory on Middle East Flights

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency decides: the recommendation not to fly to the Middle East region extends until April 24 in the following countries. When will flights resume?

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) announced today (April 9, 2026) the extension of the recommendation not to fly to the Middle East until at least April 24, 2026. The announcement came after several different extensions, and despite the ceasefire announced yesterday.

According to the EASA announcement, the recommendation applies to European airlines that operate flights to Israel, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

European airlines are taking the EASA recommendation very seriously, and before it is lifted, flights to various destinations in the Middle East, are not expected to resume.
