Good news for travelers to the United States: Delta Air Lines will resume its flights to Israel on April 1.
The American airline will restart daily direct flights from New York-JFK to Tel Aviv on April 1. The flights will be operated with Airbus A330-900neo aircraft and will serve about 2,000 passengers a week.
Delta, which had announced a halt to its flights until the end of March, will actually be the first American airline to renew its flights to Israel. This is a huge announcement for the aviation industry since American airlines like American Airlines and United Airlines stopped their flights to Tel Aviv a few months ago due to the war and have not resumed them yet. EL-AL was the only airline operating direct routes to the USA.
The American airline stated: "Delta's decision to resume service came after a comprehensive security review, carried out in close coordination with government and private sector partners. The airline continues to prioritize the safety of its customers and crews, and has implemented additional precautionary measures on flights to and from Tel Aviv."
It should be noted that Delta increased its presence in Israel through a code-share agreement with EL-AL. This partnership allows Delta customers to book direct EL-AL flights to Tel Aviv from major cities across the USA, such as New York-JFK, Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale. With Delta resuming its New York (JFK)-Tel Aviv route, customers now have greater flexibility and more travel options between North America and Israel, supported by Delta's award-winning service and modern fleet.
According to the company, as part of Delta's initial activities in Israel, it will sponsor the Tel Aviv Marathon, which will take place on February 28.
