Five days before Christmas and Chanukah, the United States is preparing for a busy week at airports, which might even break the all-time record for the number of passengers.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) notes that during previous holidays, like Thanksgiving, which is considered a family holiday in the U.S., passenger records at many airports were broken, and the Christmas travel records are also expected to be surpassed.
"Planning ahead and packing correctly can ease the screening process and the airport travel experience," said Thomas Carter, Federal Security Director of TSA in New Jersey.
The TSA also indicates that recently many travelers have been arriving with drinks and prohibited weapons in carry-on bags, which are confiscated during screening.
At the Dallas airport in Texas (DFW), traffic of 4.7 million passengers is expected between today (12/20) and January 7, 2025. Among all these, today is expected to be the busiest day at this huge airport, one of the largest in the United States.
