ACI Reveals 2025 Global Airport Rankings: These Are the World's Busiest Airports

ACI report: Global airports see steady growth across passengers, cargo, and aircraft movements. Atlanta was the busiest airport last year, followed by Dubai and Tokyo Haneda. The top 10 busiest airports in total passengers account for 9% of the global passenger traffic

Airports Council International (ACI World) has released its 2025 rankings of the world’s busiest airports across passengers, international traffic, cargo, and aircraft movements. 

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport remains the world’s busiest overall, followed by Dubai International Airport, Tokyo Haneda, Dallas/Fort Worth, Shanghai, Chicago, London, Istanbul, Guanghzhou, and Denver.

Total Passengers 

1.Atlanta: 106.3 million 

2.Dubai: 95.2 million

3.Tokyo Haneda: 91.7 million

4.Dallas: 85.6 million

5.Shanghai: 84.9 million

6.Chicago: 84.8 million

7.London: 84.4 million

8.Istanbul: 84.4 million

9.Guanghzou: 83.5 million

10.Denver: 82.4 million

Global traffic reached 9.8 billion passengers, up 3.6% year-on-year.

International traffic reached 4.0 billion passengers, up 5.9% year-on-year.

Cargo volumes reached 128.9 million tonnes, up 2.9% year-on-year.

ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci: "We congratulate the world’s busiest airports for managing growing air travel demand amid increasing operational complexity. These hubs keep people and goods moving, supporting global trade, tourism, and economic growth in their communities and regions. To help keep pace with rising demand, governments must prioritize sustained investment in airports and the broader aviation ecosystem."
