London commuters and travelers are advised to brace themselves for several days of Tube strikes and travel disruptions this week.
Tube drivers, represented by the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT), have planned a two-part strike following discontent over their working schedule. Their action will impact the capital city today, April 21, and on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 12pm midday to 12pm midday the following day.
Disruption will, however, also carry on into the afternoons and evenings of strike days.
Transport for London (TfL) also informed the public that the Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground, trams, and the majority of bus routes will run as scheduled, but they are likely to get overcrowded.
On Friday, April 24, a bus strike is expected to affect several routes in east London.
This morning, April 21, Heathrow Airport issued an announcement on social media platform X: "Due to planned strike action, there will be little to no service across all TfL Underground services, including the Piccadilly line to Heathrow, between 21 and 24 April 2026. Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line, and local bus services will run as normal on these days. Please plan your journey before travelling to Heathrow and allow extra time where necessary, as these services will be busier than usual."
