German airline Lufthansa has launched its new business class on the first upgraded A380, as part of a broad program to upgrade eight aircraft in its fleet. The revamped aircraft's maiden flight took off today, April 23, 2026, from Munich to Los Angeles.
The aircraft, registered D-AIMC and nicknamed "Mike-Charly", features a completely new business class on the upper deck. The class offers 68 seats with direct aisle access, a seat width of 58 cm, and a bed at least two meters long. In addition, flexible partitions have been installed to enhance passengers' sense of privacy.
