The cruise company Carnival Cruise Line will celebrate its 55th birthday in 2027, announcing three main festive events that will take place on 11 different cruises.
The 55th birthday cruises include various itineraries of 3 to 8 days in the Bahamas. During each of the three events, several Carnival ships will host simultaneous birthday celebrations on board, featuring special birthday-themed cocktails, exclusive birthday cakes in the restaurants, a dessert buffet, lively party games, and trivia.
The birthday events will take place on different dates throughout 2027. For example, according to Carnival's announcement, four of the company’s ships will participate as follows: Carnival Spirit will depart on March 6, 2027, for an 8-day cruise; Carnival Elation will also sail on March 6 from Jacksonville for a 5-day cruise from Tampa; Carnival Legend will cruise from Tampa on a six-day trip starting March 7; and Carnival Freedom will sail from Canaveral for a five-day cruise beginning March 8.
It was also reported that on March 10, 2027, these three ships will meet for a celebration on the private island RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, about which Carnival recently announced an upgrade in collaboration with its sister brand Holland America Line of their jointly owned private island in the Bahamas.
Additionally, it was reported that the ship Carnival Jubilee will depart from Galveston on March 6 for an 8-day cruise;
Carnival Legend will sail from Tampa on a 6-day itinerary starting March 7; Carnival Pride will depart from Baltimore for a 7-day cruise starting March 7; and on March 13, 2027, Meetup - five ships will gather on the private island.
Behind Carnival Cruise Line stands Ted Arison, who initiated the establishment of the company, which began its journey with one ship that sailed from Miami port in 1972.
Today, the company operates from more home ports in the U.S. than any other cruise company and two ports in Australia, with a fleet of 27 ships. The Carnival fleet is expected to grow to 29 ships by spring 2025, while simultaneously expanding operations in Australia. On its 55th birthday, the company is expected to "begin another rapid period of growth with the debut of a new Excel-class ship and four additional new ships arriving by 2033," it was reported.
