Air Canada announced that flight operations crew schedulers and in-flight crew schedulers, represented by Unifor, have approved new collective agreements with the company.

The agreements, which will enter into force for four years until May 22, 2029, include approximately 190 employees in Canada, including some 100 flight crew planners and 90 cabin crew planners.

The company welcomed the agreement, noting that it was the result of joint work between the company’s and the union’s negotiating teams. The company’s vice president of labor relations, Mike Abbott, thanked both parties for “their hard work and diligence in successfully negotiating these agreements.

The role of crew planners is considered critical to the company's ongoing operations, as they are responsible for assigning air crews, managing work arrangements, and coordinating logistics, including accommodation and transportation, to ensure the smooth operation of all of the company's flights, including the low-cost Air Canada Rouge brand.
