LATAM Group, the leading airline corporation in Latin America, marked a significant milestone for 2024, reflecting both the increase in passenger numbers and expanded activities across the region.
LATAM Airlines Group S.A, along with its subsidiaries, is the largest airline group in Latin America, operating in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. The group also provides international services to Europe, Oceania, Africa, the United States, and the Caribbean.
In December 2024, LATAM carried 7.3 million passengers, reflecting a rise of 5.4% compared to the same month in 2023. Throughout the entire year, the group carried 82 million passengers from January to December 2024, an increase of 11% compared to the previous year. This milestone represents the highest number of passengers ever flown by LATAM.
It should be noted that a 16.1% increase in international activities played a significant role in this substantial growth. The airline also launched several new international routes, including: Santiago to Bariloche (Argentina), Santiago to Recife (Brazil), Lima to Montego Bay (Jamaica), Lima to Rosario (Argentina).
The average occupancy on LATAM flights was 84.8% in December. Throughout the year, the average occupancy reached 84.3%, an improvement of 1.2 percentage points compared to 2023.
