A welcome development for the aviation sector: Lufthansa Group is considering a partial resumption of its operations in Israel as early as the beginning of June, if conditions allow.

According to a statement from the group spokesperson, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings plan to resume some flights in June, subject to ongoing assessments of the security situation. Decisions about which flights will operate will be determined accordingly.

Industry assessments suggest this is a positive first sign from one of Europe's major airline groups, potentially signaling a gradual return to normality, albeit cautiously. Lufthansa Group is often seen as a bellwether among European airlines.

In the meantime, passengers whose flights were canceled are being assisted directly by the airlines, with options to rebook under flexible terms or receive a full refund. The group emphasizes that passenger and crew safety remains the top priority, and all decisions will be made in response to on-the-ground developments.
