Uganda Airlines has officially returned one of its Airbus A330-800neo aircraft to service after months of maintenance-related grounding since February. The company was forced to ground both of its A330-800neos due to a series of technical problems, triggering the suspension of London Gatwick operations.

The 5X-NIL, which has returned to service, will support the carrier's long-haul operations. More specifically, the aircraft will return to the skies over London, as recently announced by Uganda Airlines in a post on X:

"Starting Monday, 4th May 2026, Journey from the Pearl of Africa direct to London Gatwick. London is calling."

Booking is already available on the airline's website, with four weekly nonstop flights from Entebbe already advertised. Uganda Airlines currently operates a fleet that consists of two Airbus A330-800neo, one A320-200 , and four Bombardier CRJ900s.
