Danish airline DAT (Danish Air Transport) announced the signing of its first codeshare agreement in its history, a significant strategic step for the regional company, with one of the world's largest aviation companies, the Lufthansa.

The new agreement includes several routes operated by DAT throughout Germany and Europe, and will allow passengers to book connecting flights under a Lufthansa codeshare, with a more convenient connection to the group's international flight network via its home ports in Munich and Frankfurt.

Some of the lines included in the collaboration:

-The route between Paderborn and Munich, operated in cooperation with skyhub PAD
-The new seasonal routes between Munich and Pécs in Hungary and Lübeck in northern Germany
-The route between Linz in Austria and Frankfurt, one of Lufthansa's main hubs in Europe

DAT did not hide its excitement about the move, saying they are proud to become a codeshare partner of Lufthansa, and calling it an important milestone not only for the development and marketing of these routes, but also for DAT as an airline.

DAT is a regional airline from Denmark, founded in 1989 and operating from several bases in the country and Europe. The company specializes in regional flights, domestic flights, ACMI services, and aircraft leasing to other airlines.

Over the years, DAT has become a well-known player in the Scandinavian and regional European markets, with operations in countries such as Denmark, Norway, Germany, Italy and Hungary.

The company's fleet mainly includes ATR turboprop aircraft alongside Airbus A320 aircraft, which are used both for operating scheduled routes and for charter flights for other companies.

The collaboration with Lufthansa is expected to give DAT much broader exposure to connecting passengers in Europe and strengthen its position as a significant regional airline in the European market.
