Air India announced today (Wednesday, May 13, 2026) a series of adjustments and reductions in its operations on a number of international routes between June and August 2026.

The changes were made following a combination of factors, including ongoing restrictions on airspace in certain areas and an unprecedented increase in jet fuel prices for international flights, a situation that significantly affects the economic viability of some of the planned routes.

The company stated that the purpose of the changes is to improve the stability of the flight network and reduce disruptions and last-minute cancellations for passengers.

Despite the adjustments, Air India will continue to operate more than 1,200 international flights each month and maintain an extensive destination network spanning five continents, including:

-33 weekly flights to North America

-47 weekly flights to Europe

-57 weekly flights to the UK

-8 weekly flights to Australia

-158 weekly flights to the Far East, Southeast Asia and SAARC countries

-7 weekly flights to Mauritius in Africa

The company said it will proactively assist passengers whose bookings are affected by the changes, through rebooking on alternative Air India flights, free rescheduling or full refund, as the case may be. In addition, the company will continue to provide service through its 24/7 call center and digital channels.
