The World Health Organization is preparing to welcome participants from around the world for the sixth edition of its annual Walk the Talk: Health for All Challenge, set to take place on May 17, 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Encouraging Healty Living

The large-scale community event will officially kick off activities linked to the Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly and aims to encourage healthy lifestyles, physical activity, and community engagement in an inclusive and family-friendly atmosphere.

Organized in partnership with the wider United Nations community, member states, sports clubs, health organizations, and local partners, the event is expected to attract participants of all ages and abilities from across Geneva and beyond.

Full Accessibility for All Participants

Activities will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Palace of Nations with warm-up sessions and entertainment before the official opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m.

Participants will follow an approximately three-kilometer route starting at Place des Nations before continuing to the headquarters of the World Health Organization and returning to the starting point. The event is designed to be fully accessible, welcoming walkers, runners, wheelchair users, families, students, diplomats, and public health advocates alike.

Along the route, visitors will find interactive activities, entertainment zones, and health-focused initiatives designed to engage participants throughout the morning.

Schools and Workplaces, Encoraged to Team Up

Organizers are encouraging schools, workplaces, and organizations to form teams and participate together as part of the broader “Health for All” movement. Families are also invited to join the event, which aims to create a welcoming atmosphere focused on wellbeing and community spirit.

The World Health Organization emphasized that the gathering is intended to remain non-political, asking participants to maintain respectful and inclusive behavior throughout the event.
