Malaysia Airlines has welcomed its 16th Boeing 737-8, which arrived safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport today, marking another step forward in the airline’s fleet expansion program.
The latest addition highlights the carrier’s ongoing focus on improving efficiency and elevating the travel experience for passengers across its regional and international network.
The delivery flight was operated by Captain Tengku Khairul Tengku Ali, Captain Nasruddin Embong and First Officer Emmanual Kooi Wei Shean, who brought the aircraft safely home to KLIA.
The airline, which will resume limited flights to Doha on July 2, 2026, said the arrival reflects the teamwork and dedication behind its operations as it continues to strengthen its modern fleet.
Malaysia Airlines also confirmed that two more Boeing 737-8 aircraft are expected to join the fleet this month as part of its continued investment in passenger comfort and upgraded cabin experiences.
"We want to give you an even more comfortable experience, exciting new cabins and the warmth of Malaysian Hospitality on your journey to your destinations," said the company's statement.
Peak Season Advisory
Last week, Malaysia Airlines advised passengers traveling during the peak festive season between May 22 and June 7, 2026 to arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport's Terminal 1 "four (4) hours ahead of their scheduled departure time for international flights and three (3) hours prior for domestic flights."
"This allows sufficient time for check-in and document verification at various airport touchpoints," explained the airline.
Passengers are advised to carry all necessary travel documents, including original passports, identification cards, and MyKIDs for children, and check entry/exit requirements using official sources.
Travelers who plan to use self-service check-in for international flights, should verify travel documents at the check-in counter.
