A Japan Airlines plane struck the tail of a Delta Air Lines aircraft while taxiing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
A collision occurred at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Wednesday morning when the right wing of Japan Airlines flight 68 made contact with the tail of a parked Delta Air Lines plane. The incident happened at approximately 10:40 AM on February 5, during the taxiing of Delta flight 1921.
Following the accident, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) temporarily halted certain flights to the airport and announced an official investigation. Both airlines have been contacted for further details regarding the circumstances of the collision.
Seattle Airport reported that: "Around 10:17 AM, Seattle's airport firefighters, police, and staff responded to the accident that occurred on the ground in the southern area of the airport. The accident happened between a Japan Airlines plane that appeared to have struck the tail of a parked Delta Air Lines plane. No injuries were reported. The airport is working with both airlines to accommodate passengers as needed. Airport crews will move the planes from the taxiway".
