EgyptAir expands in the U.S.
EgyptAir continues to expand its operations in the United States and today (Saturday) launched its new inaugural nonstop flight on the Cairo–Los Angeles Route. At the same time, the airline is preparing to open another Route to Chicago as part of its broader push to strengthen its presence in the American market.
The new Los Angeles service is considered a major strategic move for Egypt’s national carrier, as the city serves as one of the main gateways to the western United States and to some of the country’s key economic, technology, and tourism centers.
EgyptAir’s expansion in the U.S. comes amid rising demand for flights between North America, the Middle East, and Africa, alongside the airline’s effort to reinforce its position as a significant regional carrier connecting Africa, the Middle East, and major destinations across the United States.
At the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, officials welcomed the move and said the new Routes are expected to strengthen connectivity between the countries and create new opportunities for travelers and businesses on both sides.

Alongside the new Los Angeles Route, the airline is already preparing to launch flights to Chicago, a step that will further strengthen EgyptAir’s network in North America.
Founded in 1932, the airline is considered one of the world’s oldest carriers. It currently operates an extensive flight network spanning Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. EgyptAir is also a member of the Star Alliance, alongside major airlines such as Lufthansa, United, and Singapore Airlines.
In recent years, the company has been working to expand its international operations, renew its fleet, and increase its presence on long-haul Routes.
The airline’s fleet includes Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft as well as advanced Airbus jets used on intercontinental services.
