Highway 403, Ontario. Photo: ArchonCodex / Shutterstock.com A major section of Highway 403 West in Ontario remains closed following a serious multi-vehicle collision involving two tractor-trailers and a pickup truck near Paris, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
Authorities confirmed that one driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, while another individual was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck did not sustain any injuries. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
As a result of the incident, Highway 403 West between Rest Acres Road and Middle Townline Road has been fully closed and is expected to remain shut for several hours while emergency crews and investigators work at the scene.
Authorities have urged motorists travelling through the area to contact the Brant Couny OPP to share any information or dashcam images of the incident.
The closure is affecting a key traffic corridor in the region, with congestion building on surrounding roads as drivers divert away from the impacted stretch.
