Emergency crews responded to a fatal skydiving accident Thursday afternoon (May 28, 2026) in Perris, California, according to the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.
Officials said firefighters were dispatched at approximately 1:54 p.m. local time to the 600 block of East Ellis Avenue following reports of “a traumatic injury involving skydivers.”
“One patient was declared deceased on-scene and the other was transported by ground ambulance with critical injuries,” the department said in a public statement.
Authorities confirmed that no additional injuries were reported.
The incident took place in Perris, a city known for its skydiving facilities and aviation activities. Officials have not yet released the identities of those involved or details about what may have caused the accident.
An investigation into the incident is expected to continue.
