Cyprus has received a welcome boost to its tourism sector after the United States and the United Kingdom updated their travel advisories, reinforcing the island's reputation as a safe destination for international visitors.
In a statement, Cyprus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the changes as a positive development for the country's image abroad and its attractiveness to travelers.
The United States has restored Cyprus to Level 1, the lowest advisory category issued by the U.S. government, which recommends that travelers exercise normal precautions.
At the same time, the United Kingdom has revised its travel guidance for Cyprus, maintaining the island as a destination for which there is no recommendation against travel while also lowering its risk assessment.
Commenting on the development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said:
"A positive development for Cyprus’ image as a travel destination is reflected in the updated travel advisories issued by the United States of America and the United Kingdom."
The ministry added that the updates reflect growing international confidence in the island as a tourism destination.
"These developments reflect our country’s image as a safe and high-quality destination."
The revised guidance comes as Cyprus continues to promote itself as a year-round destination, welcoming millions of visitors annually from Europe, North America, and beyond.
