Wizz Air is expanding its operations in Italy. The Hungarian low-cost carrier will open a new domestic route in the European country this coming winter season.

The route between Lamezia Terme in Calabria and Rome Fiumicino will launch on October 25, 2026, with two daily flights. This is a significant milestone for the company, as it is the first domestic route from Lamezia Terme, bringing the Calabria region closer to the capital Rome, while expanding access to the company's international network.

Wizz Air commented on the new rote, saying they will continue to invest in southern Italy, opening up stronger connectivity, competitive fares and new opportunities for flights and growth.
