One of Bucharest's most important parks (Drumul Taberei) has transformed into a colorful floral wonderland as the fourth edition of West Side Flower Fest 2026 gets underway, once again bringing thousands of flowers, giant installations, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities to Romania's capital.

Photo credit: @surorilecalatoare via Instagram Running through June 7, the festival, the biggest floral-themed event in the country, has become one of Bucharest's most anticipated summer events, attracting visitors with floating gardens on the park's lake, impressive flower displays, themed gardens, workshops, and more than 100 exhibitors and traders.

Photo credit: @surorilecalatoare via Instagram This year's edition is held under the theme "Origins – The Garden of Regions and the Craftsman" and places a strong emphasis on sustainability, local traditions, native plants, and creative landscape design. Fourteen original gardens created by students and professors from landscape architecture and horticulture faculties across Romania are competing for public votes and jury awards.

Dedicated sensory experiences for young children and toddlers have also been included.

Photo credit: @surorilecalatoare via Instagram The festival extends beyond the park itself, with part of Drumul Taberei Boulevard closed to traffic and transformed into a pedestrian zone filled with flower vendors, food stalls, local producers, artists, and entertainment.

Photo credit: @surorilecalatoare via Instagram Saturday's highlights include performances by several Cantus Mundi choirs, a Bucharest Metropolitan Circus show, a conference marking World Environment Day, theatre performances, dance shows, and a headline concert by popular Romanian singer Theo Rose at 8:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with water projection shows on the lake.
On Sunday, visitors can enjoy another day of music, circus performances, children's theatre, magic shows, and the award ceremony for the "Origins" landscaping competition. The festival will close with a concert by Romanian artist JO at 8:00 p.m., followed by a final series of water projection spectacles.
Admission is free throughout the weekend, with activities running from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
As summer festival season begins across Europe, West Side Flower Fest offers both locals and tourists a chance to experience one of Bucharest's most vibrant outdoor events, combining flowers, culture, music, sustainability, and community spirit in one of the city's most popular parks.
