Asian airlines continue to demonstrate impressive performance when it comes to meeting schedules, according to aviation analyst firm OAG's On-Time Performance (OTP) report for May 2026, which examined millions of flights worldwide.
At the top of the global ranking is the Indonesian airline Garuda Indonesia, which achieved an exceptional punctuality rate of 97.77% of flights arriving at their destination on time - a figure that made it the most punctual airline in the world this past month.
The report indicates a clear Asian dominance: half of the world's top ten airlines come from Northeast Asia. Among the notable ones is the South Korean low-cost carrier Jeju Air, which achieved an on-time rate of 92.18% and did not cancel any of the 6,682 flights tested.
One of the positive surprises in the ranking is Royal Jordanian, the Jordanian company that came in third place in the world with an accuracy rate of 93.68% and an extremely low cancellation rate of 0.6%, an especially impressive achievement given the challenges and instability in the Middle East.
At the same time, 16 airlines around the world completed the month of May without a single flight cancellation. Notable among them are the British airline Jet2, which operated 14,298 flights without a single cancellation, and Cebu Pacific from the Philippines, which operated more than 12,000 scheduled flights without cancellations.
Among low-cost carriers, Norwegian stood out as the most punctual European carrier. On the other hand, the month was particularly challenging for InterCaribbean Airways, which suffered a cancellation rate of almost 15%, the highest in the world.
