Lufthansa Group CEO in Israel leaves his position.
Markus Hegenbroich appointed in March 2022 announced that he concluded his role as the group's CEO after three years in the position.
Hegenbroich, in his LinkedIn announcement, writes: "When one chapter closes, another begins! The end of January marked the end of my tenure as CEO of the Lufthansa Group in Israel, concluding three unforgettable and impactful years. This journey has been transformative, both professionally and personally, and I am grateful for the experiences and the people who made it special. Above all, I want to thank my exceptional team - not just colleagues, but family."
Hegenbroich further writes: "Their passion and resilience made every challenge easier and every success more rewarding. From family trips to Germany to beach cleanups along the Israeli coast, our incredible team spirit extended far beyond business. Working in the StartUpNation has been eye-opening. Beyond work, I had the opportunity to experience the warmth and hospitality of Israel firsthand. The deep sense of community, the way people genuinely care for each other, and the meaningful connections I built here made Israel feel like much more than just a workplace - for me, it will always be a home away from home."
Starting in February, Hegenbroich will serve as the Chief Commercial Officer at the digital marketing company Oscar Bravo, part of the Lufthansa Group.
It should be noted that the Lufthansa Group, the largest in Europe and one of the largest worldwide, includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and as of last month, Ita Airways, resumed its flights to Israel on 1.2.25.
