It's not every day that an Iranian political figure, one of the most involved in the world and one of the greatest experts on what's happening in the Middle East, lands in Israel. Amir Abbas Fakhravar is leading a series of lectures under the title "Iran's Next Step - Not Just the Collapse of the Regime, but the End of Islam in Iran."

Fakhravar is not only a political figure but also a social influencer who maintains social media accounts with approximately 2 million followers in total, in which he extensively details his views on the future of Iran and the entire Middle East.

At the beginning of the interview with PassportNews, conducted the day after the announcement of the signing of the agreement between Trump and the Iranian regime, Fakhrvar refers to the details of the agreement, almost with a laugh.

"It's impossible to even understand what to call it. Agreement, deal? I don't know either. It's similar to the agreement signed in 2015 that they didn't know what to call it. We might call it an 'agreement of understanding' but one with zero meaning. It has no meaning. It's not an agreement, but an 'agreement to talk' for 60 days to see if we can reach an agreement. It's simply nothing and nothing."

And that's what Trump wants?

"What Trump wanted was to get through the World Cup peacefully and quietly, and he hopes they might even win. He's not at all worried about the midterm elections. The Republicans will continue to hold the House of Representatives and the Senate. That's what worried him three months ago, and today he's much calmer and in no hurry."

And what about Israel?

"In Israel, the situation is completely different when it comes to Israel. Netanyahu needs to end the Iranian regime and the Israelis want to see it happen. Because if that doesn't happen, within 3-4 years the regime will rehabilitate itself thanks to oil money, and everything will repeat itself, so as of today there is no progress towards overthrowing the regime."

"Opposition Militias Should Take Over Government Buildings in Iran"

"What is happening now is a civil war in Iran. It's amazing to see what is happening today, the regime is persecuting the regime's supporters," says Fakhrvar.

How can this be the case?

"Because they are going against the Iranian negotiators and the regime doesn't like that at all. They are trying to calm the situation. But the truth is that the civil war can be seen as a good step towards the new Iran."

"The New Iran" is precisely the central theme of your lectures. What steps need to be taken to achieve the state of a new Iran?

"We don't need to reinvent the wheel to reach the new Iran. We see the new world. This is the way, and this will also be the way for Iran and for all of us. At the heart of the matter is the constitution, which was already in Iran 120 years ago. To date, there have been 7 different constitutions that went in the wrong directions and gave too much power to kings or rulers. This time, in order to create the new constitution, and move forward, the Iranian opposition needs to be united around it."

And in your opinion, there is no future for talks with the current government.

"The current government will not survive, that's for sure. On the day the war truly ends, the beginning of the end of the regime will come, and it will collapse. This is the time to focus on the future and create the constitutional alternative, the most important clause of which will be that there is no one person responsible for the future of Iran, but a constitutional coalition, and then we will be on track for the future."

For such a revolution, we also need the people on the streets. What happened to the Iranian protests? They've been protesting for a year and a half and haven't seen any results. Has the regime managed to scare them because of the mass killings?

"You talk about the current protests, but in reality these are protests that have been going on for decades. Don't forget that 50,000 people have officially been killed in shootings during protests. Our numbers speak of 100,000 killed. The regime doesn't care. They just kill them. I have no doubt that there will be more waves of protests, but these need to develop into a real coup with the takeover of government structures by armed militias."

The news in Israel said last night that "the Iranian regime almost fell recently." Do you agree with this statement or is it just another tool in the game?

"That's true. But there was a misunderstanding on the part of the Israeli administration. They thought they could trust one person, Ali Reza Pahlavi. He had a year to prove that he could unite the opposition. Not only did he not do it, he also divided the opposition into 7 parts that are now attacking each other. Simply a lack of understanding on the part of Israel. I now suggest to the American and Israeli administrations, support the establishment of an Iranian constitution."

In other words, there is no element in the Iranian regime that can or should be spoken to.

"After half a century of cries of 'Death to Israel,' it is clear that this is Israel's greatest enemy. Any agreement with them is a mistake, even if they are currently weak. With the support of China and Russia, they can restore the missile program. There is no way to leave this regime with us, they must disappear in favor of a new constitutional regime."

By the way, what about Mojtaba Khamenei, the young leader? There have been many rumors about his condition.

"Mujtaba is dead," Fakhrwar states firmly. "The regime is just playing a game where they are trying to make the public like Mujtaba in order to increase their support. But he is dead."

"Israel Is Not a US Protectorate"

In recent months, the presence of American aircraft in Israel has been difficult to ignore, leading many in Israel to feel strongly that Israel is a protectorate, another star on the American flag. Fakhrwar disputes this statement.

When you arrived at Ben Gurion Airport yesterday, you can assume you saw with your own eyes what was meant.

"The United States has helped Israel a lot. Along with this, Israeli intelligence works amazingly and will continue to work amazingly. The American equipment that is in Israel, especially under the Trump administration, is amazing. The friendship between the two countries is amazing. Israel is not a US protectorate. Netanyahu has great respect for Trump and the US."

Can Israel continue the war alone?

"At the end of the day, the US knows that Israel can continue from this point on its own. Last year, in the 12-Day War and later in the 40-Day Wa,  yes, Israel needed Iran. Now Israel is pretty safe. 80% of the Iranian regime's capabilities are gone and Israel can continue from here on out on its own, and that's the best thing that could happen. We've seen a lot of respect between the two regimes, but at any moment Israel can continue from here on out on its own."

In the meantime, it is impossible to ignore the dramatic impact on tourism in Israel in particular, and the economy in general. Do you think this is something the country can accommodate?

"Unequivocally, Israel has no problem. The problem is all the rest of the Middle East. Israel is very stable. The regional problem is the 'virus,' Islamic extremism. The only democracy in the Middle East will hold out and survive. There is no problem here. The rest of the Middle East? In a big problem. What they will have to understand is that the constitution, the constitutional revolution in Iran, can be 'contagious' in a positive sense and also exist in Syria, Lebanon, and even Gaza. And by the way, it's good that Israel cut off the Iranian arm of Gaza."

A truly new Middle East.

"That's right, and the Israeli government will also have to actively support the Iranian constitution. This is exactly the same case as the story of Japan, which I also wrote about in my book "The Spirit of the Constitutional Law" . A country that went from being an enemy of the US, from being a terrorist state, to America's best friend and a member of the G7. This is a model that will work."

In conclusion, can we be optimistic and think two years ahead about Israeli trips to Tehran and Iranian tourists who will come to visit Israel?

"You can definitely dream. In fact, it's no longer a dream. We're very close to it, it'll happen sooner than we think."
