Air Canada, the Canadian flagship carrier that recently operated its first transatlantic Airbus A321XLR flight between Montreal and Toulouse, has opened a new Air Canada Café at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), bringing the airport's first dedicated premium lounge experience to travelers.

The new facility, operated in partnership with Plaza Premium, offers 97 seats and is designed as a space where eligible passengers can relax, work, or recharge before their flight. The lounge features locally inspired food and beverages that highlight Québec City's culture, heritage, and culinary traditions.

The opening marks the seventh Air Canada Café location and forms part of the airline's ongoing investment in upgrading its global lounge network.

“Travelers love Québec City for its food, charm and character,” said Jacqueline Harkness, Managing Director, Product & Services at Air Canada. “With this new Air Canada Café, we’ve created a space that feels like a love letter to the city, warm, calm, and inspired by its rich and unique character. Québec City is one of Canada’s great treasures, and we’re proud to bring a little taste of its magic into the travel experience.”

The lounge's design follows Air Canada's "Glowing Hearted" concept and draws inspiration from the region's natural landscapes and distinctive French heritage. It also features artwork by acclaimed Canadian artists, including Antonietta Grassi and Douglas Coupland.

Among the food offerings are signature breakfast pancakes with maple butter, a build-your-own power bowl station, local cheeses and artisanal jams, as well as vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. The full-service bar serves specialty coffee, cocktails featuring local spirits, and beer from Québec brewery La Souche.

Stéphane Poirier, President and CEO of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, welcomed the opening, calling it fully aligned with their "commitment to offering an ever more welcoming and distinctive experience to travelers" who choose to fly from their airport.

Eric Pateman, Senior Vice President, North America at Plaza Premium Group, said the project reflects the companies' shared vision for improving the passenger journey.

“We are immensely proud to debut this space at YQB, a unique hybrid lounge that brings together a premium common-use experience and world-class service.”

“This opening celebrates our continued partnership and a shared vision to innovate, collaborate, and truly make travel better.”

Access to the new Air Canada Café is available to eligible customers, including Aeroplan Elite members, Star Alliance Gold members, select premium cardholders, and Business Class passengers traveling on Air Canada and Star Alliance flights from Québec City.

The lounge offers power outlets and USB-C charging at every seat, dedicated workspaces, and a range of self-service food and beverage options.
