The busiest international airline route in 2024 was Hong Kong (HKG) Taipei (TPE) with almost 6.8 million seats available to passengers.

Here are the 10 busiest international airline routes in 2024:

  1. HKG-TPE - Hong Kong – Taipei: 6,781,577 flight seats
  2. CAI-JED - Cairo - Jeddah: 5,469,274 seats
  3. ICN-NRT - Seoul Incheon - Tokyo Narita: 5,410,456 seats
  4. SIN - KUL Kuala Lumpur - Singapore Changi: 5,382,163 seats
  5. ICN-KIX - Seoul Incheon - Osaka Kansai: 4,982,769 seats
  6. DXB-RUH - Dubai – Riyadh: 4,306,599 seats
  7. BKK-HKG - Bangkok - Hong Kong: 4,201,802 seats
  8. CGK-SIN - Jakarta - Singapore Changi: 4,069,071 seats
  9. BKK-SIN - Bangkok - Singapore Changi: 4,033,344 seats

It is worth noting that the capacity on most routes increased compared to the capacity in 2019 before the pandemic, and also surpassed the capacity of the previous year, 2023, which marked the significant recovery.

On the leading route between Hong Kong and Taipei, the capacity increased in 2024 by 48% compared to the previous year.

The capacity on the Cairo to Jeddah route, ranked second, increased by 14%, while the capacity on the route ranked third between Seoul Incheon (ICN) to Tokyo Narita (NRT) increased by 30% compared to 2023 levels.

The capacity on the route ranked seventh between Bangkok (BKK) to Hong Kong (HKG) increased by 29% compared to 2023.
