Passengers traveling on the East Coast Main Line are facing disruption after a fire broke out next to the railway between York and Doncaster, causing some lines to be blocked.

Train operator Lumo warned that services running through the affected section may be canceled, with disruption expected to continue until at least 13:30 local time. The operator advised passengers to check live journey information before traveling, as schedules may change at short notice.

The incident is affecting one of the UK's busiest rail corridors, which connects London with northern England and Scotland. Delays and cancellations could also impact services operated by other train companies using the route.

Lumo noted that estimated delay times can sometimes be reduced if conditions improve, meaning services could resume earlier than expected.

Passengers delayed by 30 minutes or more may be eligible for Delay Repay compensation, subject to the operator's conditions.

Travelers are being urged to monitor official updates and allow extra time for their journeys while emergency teams work to resolve the situation.
