The cruise company Poseidon Expeditions, specializing in small expedition voyages to remote polar regions, has opened sales for the 2026 Arctic season and the 2026-27 Antarctic season.

According to the company's announcement, the 2026-27 season will mark the 12th consecutive year of polar expeditions aboard the Sea Spirit, a modern ship adapted for small group exploration.

Highlights of the 2026 Arctic season:

Discover the northernmost city in the world - Poseidon Expeditions will organize a tour around Longyearbyen, Svalbard.

Special Eclipse Expedition (August 2-15, 2026) - In celebration of the total solar eclipse on 12/8/26, Poseidon Expeditions offers a cruise guided by guest astrophysicist Paul Sutter, known for making complex astronomical concepts accessible.

Early booking discounts are offered for reservations made by June 30, 2025: 10% discount on triple, single, and classic suites and 15% discount on superior, deluxe, premium, and owner's suites.

Highlights of the 2026-27 Antarctic season:

The Australian summer season in the Southern Ocean is extended until April, giving guests more time to explore the stunning landscapes and wildlife of South Georgia Island.

Early booking discounts are offered for Antarctic season reservations made by July 31, 2025 - 10% discount on triple, single, and classic suites and 15% discount on superior, deluxe, premium, and owner's suites.

The company also stated that all expeditions aboard the Sea Spirit expedition vessel operate at a capacity of approximately 100 guests, "offering an intimate experience without overcrowding or splitting passengers for disembarkations. The ship also offers two lecture lounges, a restaurant accommodating all passengers in one sitting, a well-stocked polar library, and a spacious outdoor deck. Optional kayaking cruises can be reserved in both polar regions, extending passengers' reach into their frozen ecosystems. Overnight camping can also be arranged on request for a more immersive experience on the Antarctic Peninsula. The ship's crew-to-passenger ratio of 1:9 is one of the most generous in the business."
