A new railway route connecting Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn has made travel between the Baltic capitals much easier.
After Lithuania launched the railway service between Vilnius and Riga last December, the logical next step was to connect all three capitals.
Now travelers can smoothly travel from Vilnius to Tallinn in a single day, thanks to an improved train service that significantly shortens previous travel times.
Three Baltic railway companies - LTG Link, Vivi, and Elron - will now coordinate train schedules to ensure connectivity between the cities. Until now, it was not possible to travel by train from Vilnius to Tallinn in a single day.
A single booking platform now covers the entire journey, allowing travelers to purchase one ticket for the entire trip. The updated train journey is now much more efficient, with better schedule coordination between Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian train operators.
The full journey from Vilnius to Tallinn spans 789 kilometers and costs only 39 euros in second class. Travelers between Vilnius and Riga will pay 24 euros in second class or 34 euros in first class, while the Riga-Tallinn route is priced at 30.50 euros.
Purchasing tickets for the new route is relatively simple. Travelers can buy a single ticket for the complete journey through the Lithuanian railway website.
Reservations open 30 days in advance, and travelers can present their tickets on their phone or print them.
Cyclists can bring bicycles on the train for a small fee, while pet owners can bring small pets in carriers at no extra charge. Larger pets require a small additional fee.
