Emirates SkyCargo has become the first airline cargo carrier to place a converted Boeing 777-300ERSF passenger-to-freighter aircraft into commercial service, marking a major milestone in the expansion of its global cargo operations.
The newly converted aircraft, registered A6-EBK, will make its first commercial flight from Hong Kong to Dubai carrying more than 100 tonnes of cargo.

Compared with the production Boeing 777-F freighter, it provides approximately 25% more cargo volume and accommodates 47 pallet positions—10 more than the factory-built variant.
The additional space makes the aircraft particularly suitable for transporting high-volume, lightweight shipments such as e-commerce goods, which now account for around 20% of global air cargo tonnage.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo: "The induction of the first converted Emirates Boeing 777-300ERSF into operational service represents the next step in the expansion of our fleet and operational agility. We are optimising our fleet assets by converting older Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft to meet the growing demand for air cargo capacity."
He added that the combination of converted aircraft and factory-built Boeing 777-F freighters has enabled Emirates SkyCargo to expand its dedicated freighter network from just over 40 destinations in February 2026 to 62 destinations today, with further growth planned.
The converted aircraft is the sixth freighter to join the airline's fleet since March 2026, following the delivery of five new Boeing 777-F production freighters.
Emirates SkyCargo plans to receive five additional Boeing 777-F aircraft and another converted Boeing 777-300ERSF before the end of 2026. Three more converted Boeing 777-300ERSF freighters are scheduled to join the fleet during 2027.
