Etihad Airways Expands Its Horizons: New Direct Flights to Sochi

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, continues its rapid expansion with an exciting new destination—Sochi, Russia. This summer, the airline will introduce nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Sochi International Airport (AER), opening up a gateway to the breathtaking northeast coast of the Black Sea.

A Year-Round Destination for Travelers

Sochi, often referred to as the Russian Riviera, is a dream destination for travelers seeking a mix of adventure and relaxation.

The Krasnodar Krai region offers stunning summer beaches and lush mountains, while winter visitors can enjoy world-class skiing and snowboarding in the Caucasus Mountains—famous for hosting the 2014 Winter Olympics. Whether it's a sun-soaked retreat or an alpine escape, Sochi delivers an unforgettable experience.

Flight Details and Travel Convenience

Etihad will operate three weekly flights—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays—utilizing its modern Airbus A320.

Each flight will offer eight seats in Business Class and 150 in Economy, ensuring passengers enjoy Etihad’s award-winning service and comfort throughout their journey.

Strengthening Etihad’s Global Reach

The launch of this new route marks the fourteenth addition to Etihad’s rapidly growing network in 2024. Alongside Sochi, the airline is set to introduce flights to major global destinations, including Atlanta, Hanoi, Hong Kong, and Taipei. In Europe, Etihad will expand to Prague and Warsaw, while new connections in North Africa will include Algiers, Tunis, and Al Alamein. Further enhancing travel across Southeast Asia, the airline is launching flights to Chiang Mai and Krabi in Thailand, Medan in Indonesia, and Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

Abu Dhabi Stopover: The Perfect Travel Experience

With the introduction of the Sochi route, Etihad also invites travelers to take advantage of its Abu Dhabi Stopover program. This initiative offers up to two complimentary nights at premium hotels, allowing passengers to explore the vibrant culture, heritage, and luxury experiences of the UAE’s capital city before continuing their journey.

The new flights to Sochi are now available for booking. Whether for a summer beach getaway or a winter sports adventure, Etihad Airways is making travel more accessible, seamless, and enjoyable than ever.
