After recently announcing the much-anticipated "Hilton Thessaloniki" hotel on the site of the historic beer brewery in Greece, Hilton has more good news for travelers in Europe.
Second Home2 Suites Hotel in Europe
The luxury hotel chain is expanding its extended-stay portfolio in Europe, planning to open the first Home2 Suites by Hilton in Spain.
The company has signed a franchise agreement with Santander Asset Management for Home2 Suites by Hilton Madrid Retiro, a 215-suite property scheduled to welcome guests in 2028. It will become the second Home2 Suites hotel in Europe, following the recent opening in Dublin.
Located in Madrid's Retiro district, the hotel will cater to both business and leisure travelers with studio and one-bedroom suites featuring fully equipped kitchens and flexible living spaces. Guests will also have access to a rooftop pool and terrace, complimentary hot breakfast, fitness and laundry facilities, and shared social areas.
Carlos Miró, managing director of development for Spain and Portugal at Hilton, said the signing marks an important milestone as the company's first extended stay property in Spain.

The hotel will be developed by IBOSA, managed by Panoram, and forms part of Santander Asset Management's coliving strategy launched in 2024.
Hilton already operates seven hotels across seven different brands in Madrid, and the new addition will further strengthen its presence in the Spanish capital.
