Zimbabwe Moves Closer to Etihad's Global Network With New Airline Partnership

Etihad Airways and Fastjet Zimbabwe have signed an agreement to offer single-ticket travel from August 24, 2026, while planning reciprocal frequent flyer benefits at a later date

Etihad Airways and Fastjet Zimbabwe have significsntly simplified the way passengers will travel across Zimbabwe and beyond. The two have signed a memorandum of understanding to launch an interline partnership, codeshare agreement as well as a future frequent flyer collaboration, allowing single-ticket travel.

The agreement, signed in Harare on July 7, will see its first tickets go on sale from August 24, 2026.

The partnership will allow Etihad passengers to connect from Harare to Bulawayo, Victoria Falls and Johannesburg on Fastjet Zimbabwe services.

The partnership also supports Etihad's planned Abu Dhabi–Harare route, scheduled to launch on March 24, 2027, extending the airline's reach to more destinations within Zimbabwe.

Fastjet Zimbabwe customers will gain access to Etihad's global network through Abu Dhabi, while the airline is also set to become the 32nd airline partner of the Etihad Guest loyalty program, offering future frequent flyer benefits across both carriers.

The airlines said the partnership is designed to improve connectivity, expand travel options and strengthen Zimbabwe's links with international markets.
