British airline easyJet is celebrating a significant achievement for its Fearless Flyer program, after the 15,000th participant completed the course aimed at helping passengers overcome their fear of flying and return to the skies with confidence.

Launched in 2012, the program has helped thousands of people overcome their fear of flying over the years, with the company claiming a success rate of more than 95%. Industry estimates suggest that as many as one in six people experience some level of fear or anxiety when flying, and the program is designed to provide them with practical tools to cope.

The 2026/27 autumn and winter cycles will see the launch of 11 new courses across the UK, including trial flights departing from London Gatwick, London Luton, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast and Jersey. In addition, for the first time since 2019, the program will return to Newcastle Airport.

The course includes three main stages: a virtual ground meeting with easyJet captains, who explain the unfamiliar sensations and sounds during takeoff, landing, and flying in turbulence; an online preparatory meeting with the program team and experts in the field of fear psychology, and finally a special experience flight in which participants apply the tools they have acquired.

The price of the online-only course starts at £89, and it is considered one of the most affordable flight anxiety treatment programs in the UK.

Mark Wein, director of easyJet's Fearless Flyer program, expressed their pride at reaching the 15,000 participants milestone, adding that his personal experience with a fear of flying made him understand how life-changing such a change can be.

easyJet will continue to operate the program over the coming months to enable more passengers to overcome their fears and regain their freedom of movement and travel around the world.
