Ensana Hotels, a leading European spa and wellness hotel chain, continues to expand by launching operations in Georgia with the opening of Ensana Sairme South, a new four-star hotel featuring 154 rooms.
The hotel is located in the spa town of Sairme, situated over 900 meters above sea level in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains, an area renowned for its thermal and mineral springs for over 60 years. This move marks the chain's entry into the Georgian market and strengthens its position in European health and wellness tourism.
According to Frank Helmus, CEO of Ensana Hotels, choosing Georgia was not a coincidence. "Georgia is a country with exceptional natural resources and a developing tourist destination, fitting perfectly with our expansion strategy. The mix of breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, warm hospitality, and therapeutic thermal and mineral springs provides Sairme with significant potential to become a leading health tourism destination."
Sairme's springs are one of the area's prominent natural assets. The thermal waters are used for musculoskeletal treatments, while the local mineral waters have been used for years to treat digestive system, liver, kidney, and urinary tract conditions.
Alongside the new hotel opening, the chain is completing renovations of Ensana Sairme North, a five-star hotel that will include an advanced health center with indoor and outdoor pools, a hammam, a salt cave, treatment rooms, and an extensive wellness complex.
Sairme is located about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Tbilisi and about an hour and a half from Kutaisi International Airport, which connects to around 30 destinations worldwide. The hotel also offers airport shuttle services, with nearby nature activities such as hiking, cycling, and horseback riding.
European Chain on the Rise
Established in 2019, Ensana currently operates spa and wellness hotels in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, and now Georgia. The chain plans to expand to Germany and Italy by 2026, as part of its growth strategy in European health tourism.
