On the evening of July 12, 2026, reports were received of a deadly fire that broke out at an entertainment complex near the Thai capital. So far, Fire and Rescue Thailand reported 27 deaths at the scene.
According to emergency services, the fire was reported around midnight local time. Footage released by rescue workers showed flames shooting from the building and thick black smoke billowing into the sky as residents tried to flee.
Firefighters were on the scene and managed to bring the fire under control within about 30 minutes. Photos released after the incident show the interior of the pub completely charred, alongside burnt tables and chairs
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived at the scene of the disaster. He added that the circumstances of the fire are still being investigated, and at this point an official cause has not yet been given.
This is one of the deadliest entertainment fires in Thailand in recent years. Similar disasters have occurred in nightclubs in the past, leading to increased scrutiny of safety standards in entertainment venues.
