Bangkok is getting ready to usher in two landmark attractions as Asset World Corporation (AWC) has unveiled plans to develop the world's first sustainable cross-river themed cable car alongside MONA Bangkok, a new immersive contemporary art museum created in partnership with Australia's renowned Museum of Old and New Art (MONA).
The projects will form the centerpiece of AWC's transformation of Asiatique The Riverfront Destination into a world-class tourism, lifestyle, and cultural hub.

According to the developer, the system will use energy-efficient technology and be engineered without support pylons in the river, minimizing its environmental impact.
Designed as more than a transportation link, the attraction will combine art, lighting, sound, technology, architecture, and nature to create an immersive journey for visitors.
The cable car will provide direct access to MONA Bangkok, an entirely new museum developed in collaboration with Australia's internationally acclaimed Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Tasmania.

AWC said the museum aims to strengthen Bangkok's growing reputation as a destination for contemporary art while creating new opportunities for local artists to reach international audiences.
The announcement was attended by Thailand's Minister of Culture, the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Governor of Bangkok, Tasmania Premier Jeremy Rockliff, Australia's Ambassador-designate to Thailand, and executives from both AWC and MONA.

Once completed, the cable car and museum are expected to become signature attractions on Bangkok's riverside, adding a new dimension to one of the city's most visited waterfront destinations.
