Thames Valley Police. Photo: Sue Thatcher / Shutterstock.com A woman has died following a multi-vehicle collision at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, prompting an appeal for witnesses from Thames Valley Police.
Emergency services were called to Car Park B at the Buckinghamshire hospital at around 2:20 p.m. local time on Friday, July 10, after reports of a serious road traffic collision involving five vehicles and a pedestrian.
According to police, the vehicles involved were a blue Honda Jazz, a red Vauxhall Zafira, a blue Nissan Qashqai, a black BMW X1, and a white BMW 1 Series.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment but later died from her injuries. Thames Valley Police confirmed that her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
No arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation.
Detective Sergeant Edward Croft, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, offered his condolences to the victim's family and urged anyone with information to come forward.
"Firstly, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family of the woman who has sadly died as a result of this collision," DS Croft said.
"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to please come forward. I also ask drivers who were in the area before the collision, particularly those in the car park at Stoke Mandeville Hospital at around 2.20 p.m., to review their dashcam footage, as it may contain information that could assist our investigation."
Police are particularly interested in speaking with motorists who were in or around the hospital car park at the time of the incident and may have captured footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it.
Stoke Mandeville Hospital, which serves Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas, remained open following the incident.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remains ongoing.
