Sydney Airport announced that beauty brand Professionail has officially opened at Terminal 1 International, becoming the latest addition to the airport's growing list of wellness and lifestyle offerings.

Located on the Arrivals level near The Barber's Lounge and Anytime Fitness, the new venue reflects a broader trend emerging at major airports around the world: transforming terminals from transit hubs into destinations in their own right.

Long gone are the days when airports were simply places to check in, pass through security, and wait at the gate. Today's travelers increasingly expect premium experiences, particularly on long-haul journeys, with airports investing heavily in wellness amenities ranging from spas and sleep pods to gyms and meditation spaces.

Sydney Airport's latest addition offers a variety of services designed to help travelers relax before or after a flight, including manicures, pedicures, and specialized head spa treatments.

The opening comes as airports globally continue to compete for passengers by enhancing the overall travel experience. Facilities such as fitness centers, lounges, wellness spas, and beauty services are becoming increasingly common as travelers seek ways to reduce the stress associated with flying.

Sydney Airport has been expanding its non-aviation offerings in recent years, with the international terminal already featuring amenities such as a barber shop and a 300-square-meter fitness center open 24/7 that marked the country's first airport-based gym, alongside traditional retail and dining options.

For travelers facing long-haul flights, or recovering from one, the opportunity to enjoy a little self-care between destinations may prove increasingly appealing.
