American Airlines is introducing a series of digital enhancements designed to give travelers more control over their journeys, from booking and airport check-in to managing delays and cancellations.
The airline's latest updates include adding Venmo as a payment option on aa.com, expanding Apple Pay capabilities, enhancing self-service disruption tools, and making it easier to access TSA PreCheck Touchless ID.
"Technology should remove complexity from travel, not add to it," said Heather Garboden, American's Chief Customer Officer. "Our goal is to build digital experiences that simplify travel and give customers more confidence every step of the way."

The move reflects the growing popularity of digital wallets and mobile-first payment methods among travelers.
American has also expanded Apple Pay availability across additional booking pathways, allowing customers to complete purchases with fewer steps.
Beyond payments, the carrier is investing heavily in disruption management. New tools available through the American app and aa.com provide customers with more detailed information about delays and cancellations, including explanations for disruptions and available options for rebooking.
Eligible travelers can access self-service rebooking tools, along with hotel, meal, and transportation resources when applicable. American has also introduced automated meal vouchers for AAdvantage members and automatic check-in for qualifying customers traveling on rebooked itineraries.
At the airport, American continues to expand its TSA PreCheck Touchless ID program. More than two million customers have already opted into the service, which allows eligible AAdvantage members to verify their identity at participating security checkpoints without presenting a physical ID or boarding pass.
Beginning next month, travelers will be able to enroll in Touchless ID directly during the online check-in process. The program is currently available at all American Airlines hub airports and more than 60 locations across its network.
American is also improving connectivity for passengers traveling on partner airlines. On select itineraries, customers can now check in and receive boarding passes for all flight segments directly through the American Airlines mobile app.
The latest enhancements are part of the airline's broader strategy to create a more connected travel experience, giving customers greater visibility, flexibility, and control from booking through arrival.
