Visitors and staff at Buckingham Palace will soon benefit from improved accessibility after new lifts were unveiled as part of the Royal Household's ongoing Reservicing Program.

The Royal Family announced that the latest upgrades form part of the extensive modernization project that has been underway since 2017. While much of the work focuses on replacing aging infrastructure and essential building services, improving accessibility throughout the historic palace has become a key priority.

The newly installed lifts are designed to make it easier for wheelchair users and visitors with reduced mobility to move around parts of the palace, helping create a more inclusive experience at one of the United Kingdom's most iconic landmarks.

The Reservicing Program is one of the largest renovation projects ever undertaken at Buckingham Palace. Alongside accessibility improvements, it includes replacing outdated electrical wiring, plumbing, heating systems, and other critical infrastructure to ensure the Grade I listed building remains operational for future generations.

The Royal Family shared the announcement on social media, highlighting the completion of the new lifts and other accessibility enhancements delivered since work began nearly a decade ago.

Buckingham Palace, which serves as the official London residence of the British monarch, welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year during seasonal public openings, special events, and guided tours.

The modernization project is expected to continue over the coming years while allowing the palace to remain partially operational throughout the renovations.
