Thai police. Photo: Sombat Muycheen / Shutterstock.com Thai police have confirmed that seven people were killed and 15 others injured in a school shooting in Nonthaburi Province, north of Bangkok, on August 7, 2026.
According to the Royal Thai Police, the victims include three teachers, three students, and the suspected gunman, who also died. Of the 15 injured, two are reported to be in critical condition and have been taken to hospital for treatment.
National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet ordered senior police officials to the scene immediately following the attack. Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Thatchai Pitaneelaboot is overseeing the response and investigation.
Authorities evacuated students and staff from the school to Chanrat Wittaya School, where parents were instructed to collect their children. The Police General Hospital has also deployed psychologists to provide urgent mental health support to students, teachers, and families affected by the tragedy.
Investigators recovered one 9mm handgun at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate the firearm belonged to a member of the suspect's family, although police say a detailed investigation is ongoing to establish how it was obtained and the motive behind the attack.

Police have not yet released the identities of the victims or additional information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting as the investigation continues.
