25% More Passengers, €2.21Bb in Revenue: Wizz Air Reveals Quarterly Numbers

The low-cost carrier concluded a quarter of growth with 15% boost in capacity, on-time performance improvement to 82.7% and a 99.9% flight completion rate

Wizz Air published strong first-quarter data, with a significant increase in passenger numbers, improved operational performance, and a high level of liquidity.

According to the company's announcement, during the quarter, it flew 25% more passengers compared to the same period last year, while continuing to expand its route network and focusing on cost control.

The company's seat offering also continued to expand: the ASK index, which reflects seat capacity in relation to flight distance, increased by 15%.

On the operational side, Wizz Air reports an improvement in its on-time performance, which rose by 3.6 percentage points to 82.7%. The flight completion rate was 99.9% .

Another significant figure comes from the treasury: According to the company, its cash balances stand at €2.21 billion, with a liquidity ratio of 37%, which it defines as one of the strongest in the industry.

The company notes that the current strategy focuses on strengthening the European core network and allocating capacity to markets where it can generate the highest value for both passengers and business operations.

Wizz Air added that its modern fleet, high liquidity and focused capacity management will continue to underpin its growth plans, alongside improved operational performance.
