A significant milestone was recorded by the European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, which began operating in its current form in 2000, and today, March 7, 2025, announced the delivery of over 16,000 aircraft shipments since its establishment.
In precise numbers: 16,028 aircraft have been delivered to the company's customers so far, with the 16,000th aircraft (A321neo) delivered to the British low-cost carrier Jet2.
The celebratory milestone was announced alongside Airbus's monthly update for February 2025, during which 40 aircraft were delivered to 25 of the company's customers, including: Delta Air Lines, British Airways, China Eastern Airlines, and Air France. In February, the company received 14 new orders for A321neo aircraft.
February 2025 is characterized by a slight decline compared to February 2024, in which Airbus delivered 49 aircraft to 28 customers.
A decline is also noticeable in January 2025, with the company delivering 25 aircraft to 17 customers, compared to 30 deliveries to 18 customers in January 2024.
Nonetheless, Airbus's CEO, Guillaume Faury, stated that the company is targeting "around 820" commercial aircraft deliveries in 2025, an increase of about 7% compared to the initial forecast of 770 aircraft per year.
