Etihad Airways has become the first airline to accept Jaywan, the UAE’s national domestic card scheme, as a payment option for flight bookings on its website.

The new payment method is now available to UAE-based customers booking flights directly through Etihad’s official website, giving travelers another way to pay for journeys across the airline’s expanding global network.

The integration allows customers to select Jaywan at checkout and complete their flight purchase through Etihad’s existing online booking process. The airline said the initiative is designed to provide a smooth and secure payment experience while supporting the UAE’s wider move toward a locally focused digital payments ecosystem.

Mark Potter, Managing Director Etihad Guest at Etihad Airways, said becoming the first airline to accept Jaywan reflects the carrier’s commitment to giving customers greater choice and convenience.

He also described the launch as the first step in Etihad’s partnership with Al Etihad Payments, adding that the airline plans to expand the benefits available to Jaywan cardholders.

Jaywan Royal Customers to Receive Additional Benefits

Etihad Guest members who hold Jaywan Royal cards will soon be able to access exclusive benefits, including discounts on Comfort and Deluxe fares and priority access benefits.

The airline said these additional offers will be introduced soon, adding another incentive for UAE-based frequent travelers to use the domestic card scheme when booking Etihad flights.

Andrea Cianchetti, Chief Products Officer at Al Etihad Payments, said the partnership provides direct value to Jaywan cardholders by combining everyday payment functionality with travel-related benefits.

The collaboration is also expected to strengthen the connection between Jaywan and major UAE-based businesses as the payment scheme continues its nationwide rollout.
