Photo: Shutterstock Following a sudden flash flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Raswa District, Nepal, at around 8:30 AM today (26.8.26), the Nepal Tourism Board, the Tourism Police, and other tourism industry officials are working to verify the whereabouts and condition of tourists and travelers who were in or passed through the area.
ccording to the official police statement, the Bhutkosi River in Barsoba has flooded from the Tibetan direction, and therefore until further notice, residents of the Trishuli River tourist areas in the districts of Nobukto, Dehding, Chitwan, Gorkha and other places are requested to remain in safe places and remain on high alert.
According to an initial registration, received from tourism agencies and travel companies, 384 travelers were identified and reported missing, including 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepalese.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, the information is currently being verified and checked with travel agencies, tour guides, local authorities, and security agencies.
Among other things, it was reported that the missing included Australian, Indian, American, and Malaysian citizens, and more. Nepal emphasizes that not all lists of travelers have been provided.
